Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.11 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 130-133. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Laureate head of Hadrian to right, wearing slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. RESTITVTORI AFRICAE Hadrian, togate, standing left, holding scroll in his left hand and raising up Africa, wearing elephant skin headdress, who kneels to right before him and holds grain ears in her left hand; between them, grain ears on the ground. BMC 874 var. (no drapery). Cohen 1223 var. (no drapery). RIC 1571. Rare. Nicely toned. Struck from slightly worn dies, otherwise, nearly very fine.
